Air Fryer Potatoes, Light Yet Tasty 👅

Air Fryer Potatoes, Light Yet Tasty.
Making delicious yet light potatoes has never been so simple and fast as with the air fryer. Honestly, I use the air fryer as a small oven because it can’t be called true frying; however, everything I can do in the kitchen oven is replicated quickly and in smaller proportions in the air fryer.

Personally, I don’t use containers inside the air fryer because mine is very easy to clean, so I put the food directly in the basket, season it there, and then cook.

This recipe will allow you to prepare amazing fries that very much resemble those from the famous fast-food chain 😉; indeed, they are my nephews’ favorites when they visit, and they disappear in no time.

Ingredients

  • 4 potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • to taste thyme

Tools

I recommend using a mandoline to cut the potatoes and an air fryer to cook them

  • 1 Mandoline
  • 1 Air Fryer

Preparation

The preparation of these air fryer potatoes is very simple. If you watch the video above, you’ll see how easy and quick it is.

  • Peel the potatoes and wash them thoroughly under running water. Cut the potatoes into matchsticks; using the mandoline will make it easier. Put them in a container covered with water for at least 30 minutes.

  • Remove the potatoes from the water without drying them and place directly into the air fryer basket. Add the tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, and thyme. Cook in the air fryer at maximum power for about 30 minutes or until golden. Stir the potatoes a couple of times during cooking.

NOTES

These potatoes are excellent when consumed hot without the need for sauces because they are already quite tasty. By not adding sauces, their calorie content remains relatively low; however, nothing prevents you from enjoying them with sauces, and even reheated, they remain tasty.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I substitute the air fryer with an oven?

Since these two cooking methods are very similar, you can use the oven at 428°F (220°C) instead of the air fryer.

  • Can I extend the soaking time for the potatoes?

You can leave the potatoes in water for a couple of hours; I indicated the minimum time.
