Pan bread recipe, a soft bread that is good either stuffed or plain, simple to make at home and often called Arab bread. For those like me who love making bread at home, I also suggest this recipe, but if due to the heat you don’t want to turn on the oven, this pan bread is the solution.
This is a simple bread without fats, it rises in a short time and does not require great manual skills, just a good non-stick pan with a lid.
- Cost: Very cheap
- Rest time: 1 Hour
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: 11 pieces
- Cooking methods: Stovetop
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 6 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 0.7 oz fresh yeast
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 2/3 cups water
Baking Tools
For kneading, I suggest using a stand mixer with a dough hook
- 1 Stand Mixer howork
- 1 Pan
Preparation
First step, place flour, salt, yeast, and water into the bowl of the stand mixer and knead for about 10 minutes with the dough hook. Fold the dough manually several times and let it rise in a glass bowl covered with plastic wrap for 1 hour.
After kneading, fold the dough several times with your hands and form a ball that will be left to rise for 1 hour covered with plastic wrap.
After the rising time, break the dough into 11 pieces and fold each piece as seen in the video to form small balls that will need to rest for another 30 minutes covered with a cloth.
Finally, heat the non-stick pan well, flatten each ball with your fingers to obtain a flatbread that you will cook over high heat on both sides, taking care not to burn it.
You will get an excellent light, fat-free bread that is very soft and can be stuffed to your liking or eaten plain.
