Preparation
By following the video, you will see how simple it is to prepare these Valentine’s Day desserts
As the first step, divide the 3 eggs into two bowls, separating the whites from the yolks. Beat the egg whites to stiff peaks with a few drops of lemon juice to facilitate this process. After beating the egg whites, add the sugar to the yolks and beat them until they are well whitened, then add the flour, still using the electric mixer. Finally, gently fold the whites into the yolks with circular movements from the bottom up to obtain a nice homogeneous mixture.
Spread the mixture on a baking tray lined with parchment paper to a maximum thickness of 1/2 inch (1 cm) and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 10 minutes. The mixture should not be sticky to the touch and should be golden on the surface.
Turn the mixture onto a table and remove the parchment paper, cut out 9 hearts from this rectangle, moisten 6 hearts with a bit of Alchermes using a kitchen brush. Cover these six hearts with hazelnut cream. Finally, just stack your hearts, ending with the heart that is neither moistened nor filled, which you will then sprinkle with a bit of powdered sugar before serving.
NOTES
These treats will be excellent single servings suitable for ending your most romantic meals, but they can also be enjoyed for your snacks.
They keep well, covered at room temperature for a couple of days, and I recommend adding the powdered sugar only when serving.
