Waffles, a simple recipe with few ingredients that is prepared in just a few minutes, without needing to separate the eggs; to make a family snack special, among friends, or to sweeten an after-dinner. My recipe does not include yeast. Important for making waffles is the typical plate for cooking, but it is an easily available tool now in all household stores at really affordable prices.
It’s a wholesome food that is liked by both adults and children. They can be served simple with a dusting of powdered sugar, or we can have fun enriching them with various creams and fresh fruit to our taste.
We can also prepare the waffles in advance, and they will keep well for a few days if stored in food bags or containers with airtight lids. To make them even tastier, just heat them for a few seconds in the microwave.
I personally enjoy making waffles with my nieces and nephews because it’s a really simple recipe. The only caution is to supervise the children during cooking.

Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup butter (melted)
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- to taste vanilla flavoring
Tools
- 1 Electric whisk
- 1 Electric heating plate
Preparation
The preparation of Waffles is very quick.
In a bowl, add the whole eggs with the sugar and start whisking them with the electric whisk. When they are well swollen and whitened, it will take 3/4 minutes, add the melted butter, the flour, and the vanilla flavoring.
You will get a nice compact but very soft dough. Slightly butter both sides of the plate and bring it to temperature; the green light will indicate that it has reached the right temperature. This is the moment to take a ladle of dough and pour it in the center of the plate, gently close the lid to prevent the dough from overflowing, wait 2/3 minutes and check if they are ready. If they are golden, you can remove them from the plate and continue cooking the rest of the dough in the same way. Your waffles are ready to be enjoyed. I serve them with simple powdered sugar, but your imagination will help you find the best filling.
Notes
As a measure for the dough to be cooked, I found a small ladle with a diameter of 2.5 inches to be appropriate, but you can use the size you prefer. The only difference will be the final thickness of the waffles you want to obtain.
