- 1 tsp mustard
- lemon juice (from half a lemon)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- to taste salt

Recipe for Chicken Thighs in Slow Cooker

Start the preparation of the chicken thighs in the slow cooker by cleaning the onion and slicing it thinly.
Briefly sauté it in a pan for a couple of minutes to soften it slightly, then transfer it into the slow cooker.Sauté the boneless chicken thighs for a couple of minutes on each side.
Place the meat into the slow cooker.Cover with the lid and cook on HIGH for 2.5 hours or on LOW for 6 hours.
Using tongs, remove the meat from the pot and keep it warm.
Add the juice of half a lemon to the sauce formed during cooking.
Continue with salt, black pepper, and a heaping teaspoon of mustard.
Continue with a tablespoon of cornstarch or another thickener of your choice.
Mix well with the pot still running until the sauce thickens.Transfer the chicken thighs from the slow cooker to plates with their sauce.
Finish to your liking with a bit of dried oregano.

Sure, the breast is fine too, but cook it for at least 3 hours as it is less tender than thighs. Chicken pieces are also fine.
Can I omit the mustard?
If you don’t like it, you can easily leave it out.

Certainly, you can use the citrus juice you prefer.
