Recipe for the No-Bake Chocolate Tartlet

  • Start the preparation of the no-bake chocolate tartlet by melting the butter in a saucepan or microwave. Let it cool slightly.
In the meantime, deal with the cookies by placing them in a blender jar.
Blend them until you get a fine crumb.

  • Transfer the cookie crumbs to a bowl, add the melted butter, and mix until you get a homogeneous mixture.

  • Divide the cookie mixture into two 4-inch tart molds and press it well with your hands or the back of a spoon to make it adhere to the mold.
Let the tartlet bases rest in the fridge for at least an hour (better if two).

  • In the meantime, prepare the ganache.
Heat the fresh cream and butter in a saucepan: they should just come to a simmer; if you have a kitchen thermometer, you can remove from the heat when the mixture reaches about 176 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Break 7 oz of dark chocolate into pieces and place it in a bowl.
Pour the cream and butter mixture over it.

  • Stir with a spoon until the chocolate is completely melted.
    Let it cool slightly.

  • Take the cookie bases from the fridge and fill them with the chocolate ganache.

  • Decorate your tartlet as you like; I chose colorful sprinkles.
Let rest for another 30 minutes in the fridge, then bring your no-bake chocolate tartlet to the table.

You can find many other delicious ideas in the collection Chocolate and Cocoa Desserts.

  • Can I use another type of cookies for the base?

Yes! If you don’t have Oreo®, you can use dry cocoa cookies or even digestive-type cookies for a more neutral base. If you choose less buttery cookies, you may need to add a bit more melted butter to compact everything well.

  • Can I prepare this tartlet in advance?

Absolutely yes! You can store it in the fridge for 2-3 days covered with plastic wrap. For perfect consistency, take it out of the fridge 10-15 minutes before serving.

  • How can I decorate the tartlet besides using colorful sprinkles?

You can add fresh fruit (like raspberries or strawberries), chopped nuts (hazelnuts, pistachios, almonds), chocolate shavings, or even a pinch of Maldon salt for a delicious contrast.

With the chocolate ganache, I also made the Cosmic brownies recipe to make them at home
