Peach Crumble, a dessert that combines the sweetness and juiciness of peaches with a crunchy and crumbly topping, creating a very pleasant contrast of textures.
It is a delicious and simple dessert to make, perfect for using fresh peaches during their season.
The crumble originated in the United Kingdom during the Second World War. Due to ingredient rationing, people were looking for simple and economical ways to create desserts. The crumble was born as a simplified version of pies, which required less flour, butter, and sugar compared to the traditional pie.
The peach crumble is a versatile dessert that can be customized in many different ways, allowing you to adapt it to your tastes and dietary needs: if, for example, you need to follow a gluten-free diet, you can use almond flour or a mix of gluten-free flours instead of traditional flour.

Peach Crumble Recipe
Start the preparation of the peach crumble by washing and drying the peaches. Since it’s a smooth-skinned variety, I decided to leave the skin on; if you don’t like it, you can remove it.
Cut the peaches into wedges and place them directly in the baking dish where you will cook the crumble. In a smaller bowl, mix the honey and the juice of half a lemon.
Pour the mixture over the peaches and set aside for now.For this recipe, I prepared the crumble with a blender to speed up the work, but you can also do it by hand.
Place the flour, sugar, and zest of an untreated lemon into the bowl of a food processor.
Add the butter, cut into pieces, preferably very cold.Turn on the blender and run it until you have obtained a kind of crumbled shortcrust pastry.
Take the seasoned peaches back and place the newly prepared crumble chunks on top.
Try to distribute it evenly.Bake the peach crumble in a preheated static oven at 356°F (180°C) for about 30 minutes or until golden brown: don’t worry if the crumble seems soft, it will harden as it cools.
Let the crumble cool completely before serving.
