Ingredients for Sandwich Bread Skewers

  • 6 slices sandwich bread
  • 3.5 oz cooked ham
  • 3.5 oz smoked provola
  • 3 zucchini
  • 2 eggs
  • to taste breadcrumbs
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • to taste vegetable oil

Steps for Sandwich Bread Skewers

  • First, wash the zucchini and trim off both ends.
    Then slice the zucchini lengthwise into thin slices.

    Next, fry the zucchini slices in vegetable oil and let any excess oil be absorbed on paper towels.

    Split each slice of sandwich bread in two, flatten them with a rolling pin and dip each slice first in beaten egg seasoned with salt and pepper and then in breadcrumbs.

    On each slice of sandwich bread place the fried zucchini, the cooked ham and the smoked provola.
    Roll the slice up and continue until all ingredients are used.

    Once you have prepared three rolls, insert toothpicks to assemble them into a skewer — place three toothpicks through them about 3/4 inch apart.

    Continue until all the bread and filling are used.

    Cook in an air fryer or in the oven for 15 minutes or until golden and crispy.

    Cut them between each toothpick and serve hot and gooey!
