Breaded Cauliflower

The Breaded Cauliflower is a very easy side dish to prepare, ready in a few minutes. It’s a great way to get even those who don’t love vegetables too much to eat them, such as children.

In this preparation, cauliflower slices were fried, but they are also great baked in the oven at 356°F, until golden, or in an air fryer.

HOW TO MAKE BREADED CAULIFLOWER

  • First, clean the cauliflower. Remove the leaves and wash it thoroughly under running water. Cut it into slices about 0.5 – 0.8 inches thick.

  • Meanwhile, put a pot with plenty of water on the stove and bring to a boil. When the water boils, add salt and boil the cauliflower for about 10 minutes. Be careful with the cooking, the cauliflower should be cooked but nice and firm.

  • Drain it and let it cool on kitchen paper.

  • Then, beat the eggs in a dish, add the cauliflower slices, and let them rest. Meanwhile, in another dish, place the breadcrumbs. Take one slice at a time and coat it well in the breadcrumbs.

  • Put a pan with oil on the stove over medium/high heat and let it heat. When the oil is very hot, cook the cauliflower slices on both sides: they should be nice and golden. If you like them crunchier, leave them for a few more minutes, but be careful not to burn them.

Variations

If you want a slightly more intense flavor, you can add chopped parsley or rosemary, Parmesan cheese, and a minced garlic clove to the breadcrumbs. This way, you’ll get a flavored breading that will make the cauliflower even more special.
