Ecstasy Cake with Nutella

Ecstasy Cake with Nutella, delicious and very soft, is the perfect cake for breakfast and snacks, loved by everyone: the children adore it.

Nutella ecstasy cake is a tasty dessert especially appreciated by lovers of the world’s most famous hazelnut cream. It is a very decadent, soft, and moist cake, enriched with the unique and enveloping taste of Nutella.

It can be enjoyed at breakfast, as a snack, or as a dessert after dinner. It goes perfectly with a glass of milk, a coffee, or a hot tea.

The preparation is straightforward. All dry ingredients are mixed together, then the eggs are added, beaten with electric whisks (or a stand mixer), followed by milk and oil, a little at a time. The mixture is placed in a greased and floured baking pan, and before baking, spoonfuls of Nutella are added on top. Once baked, let it cool and serve. Delicious!!

My friend Paola shared the recipe with me, she makes it with the Thermomix, but it’s so easy that you can do it without one. Even the name is a guarantee and says a lot about how good it is. It’s so delicious it sends you into ecstasy with every bite. Needless to say, it’s my children’s favorite cake.

Ecstasy Cake with Nutella
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Inexpensive
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 6
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups flour
  • 0.4 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 0.75 cups sugar (I used 0.65 cups, as Nutella is already very sweet)
  • 0.4 cups milk (or plain yogurt)
  • 0.4 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • as needed Nutella®
  • 1 pinch salt

Tools

  • 1 Stand Mixer
  • 1 Springform Pan

Steps

  • First, put the dry ingredients in the stand mixer (or a bowl if using electric whisks): flour, unsweetened cocoa, baking powder, sugar, salt, and mix them. Add the whole eggs, beating them with the stand mixer and also add the oil and milk, a little at a time.

  • Meanwhile, turn on the oven to 350°F, static.

  • Pour the batter into a springform pan with a diameter of 9 – 10 inches, previously greased and floured

  • and add the Nutella with the help of 2 tablespoons.

  • Bake in a preheated oven for about 35 – 40 minutes. Always do the toothpick test, inserting it in areas without Nutella. It took me 42 minutes.

  • Note: Baking times vary from oven to oven. To check doneness, insert a long toothpick (or a spaghetti strand) into the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, it’s done. If it’s sticky and moist, the cake is not ready yet.

  • Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool, if you wish, dust with some powdered sugar to taste, but it’s delicious even without it. Here’s the ready Ecstasy Cake with Nutella. Enjoy your meal!

Storage

You can store the Ecstasy Cake for about 2 – 3 days, in a cool and dry place, closed in an airtight container or a cake holder.

Tips and Suggestions

– Baking. Before removing the cake from the oven, carefully check the baking, especially in the center of the cake with a spaghetti strand (or a skewer stick).

– During the preparation phase, it is very important to beat the eggs with the electric whisk for several minutes, as more air incorporated into the mixture will result in a softer cake. Also, it is always advisable to use room temperature eggs, preferably organic.

Curiosity

Nutella was invented in Italy, in Alba (my hometown), in 1964 by Pietro Ferrero. Its popularity has grown over the years, becoming one of the most loved and consumed confectionery products in the world.

FAQ (Questions and Answers)

  • Why add salt to cakes?

Generally, the classic “pinch” of salt is added to sweet preparations to enhance the flavor more intensely and thus confer taste and flavor. Thanks to the presence of salt, taste buds become more receptive and can capture more nuances.
