5 GRAINS COOKIES

The 5 grains cookies, like the famous Grancereale, are even more delicious and nutritious when homemade. With oatmeal and four different types of flour, hazelnuts, and raisins, they are very easy to prepare for those who, like me, love to bake cookies.

If you’ve tried any of my delicious cookie recipes, the 5 grains cookies should not be missing from your breakfast tray, accompanied by natural fruit juice.

Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 cups flour (1/3 cup All-purpose flour – 1/3 cup whole wheat – 1/3 cup spelt – 1/3 cup cornmeal)
  • 1 1/8 cups rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup peeled whole hazelnuts
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 5 2/3 tbsp vegetable margarine
  • 1 2/3 tbsp milk (about 3 tablespoons)
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Steps

  • 1 – Coarsely blend the rolled oats with the hazelnuts and raisins, add the flours, sugar, salt, and baking powder, and finish blending to mix the dry ingredients together.

    2 – Add the butter and milk, then knead and compact the dough. Wrap it in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

    3 – After letting the dough rest, roll it out on the work surface and use a round cutter to cut out the cookies. The thickness of the dough can vary from 1/8 to 3/16 inch.

    4 – Place the cookies on a sheet of parchment paper on the baking tray and bake them at 340 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 minutes.
