The Christmas log with chestnut cream cannot be missing during the holiday season I make it every year, and it’s a hit, especially because it’s an easy dessert to prepare without baking, and it’s beautiful to look at as well as delicious. Another Christmas dessert to present is the vegan lemon bread with glaze in the shape of a star.
To make the Christmas log with chestnut cream, you will use ready-made jarred marronata and add dark chocolate and ladyfingers. Then just shape it like a log with its branches and finally decorate it creatively. I add red candied cherries and whole chestnuts, sugar sprinkles, and white chocolate shavings to simulate snow.

Ingredients
- 17.6 oz chestnut cream (2 jars of chestnut marronata)
- 7 oz dark chocolate
- 4.4 oz butter (at room temperature)
- 20 ladyfingers
- 3.5 oz walnuts (without skin)
- 10 red candied cherries
- as needed sugar sprinkles + white chocolate + candied chestnuts
Steps
1 – Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler.
When the chocolate is melted, remove it from heat and add the butter in pieces, mixing well.
Let the mixture cool slightly, then add the chestnut cream and mix.
Also add the crumbled ladyfingers and chopped walnuts. Mix well, and if you want, you can add some coarsely chopped candied chestnuts (optional).
Place the mixture in the refrigerator for at least thirty minutes before shaping the log.2 – After the cooling time, place the mixture on the serving plate (I recommend oval or rectangular) and shape it into a log. Don’t make it straight; give it a slightly tapered shape, then make the two side branches with the same mixture and attach them to the log.
Use a fork point to stripe the surface of the dessert to simulate bark and create some circular knots to make it look realistic.3 – Decorate the Christmas log with groups of 3 candied cherries and some whole chestnuts. Sprinkle sugar sprinkles on top to simulate snow and some white chocolate curls (optional).
Put it back in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving, preferably the day before.
If you want to impress even more, slice it at the table and serve it with fresh whipped cream.Best wishes and sweet holidays to all!!
