There are some dishes that start out simple… and then become a little obsession. These creamy turkey bites are exactly that.
Soft, juicy and wrapped in a velvety cream that makes them incredibly comforting, they prove that turkey can also become something surprisingly indulgent. Don’t expect the “usual” light and a bit anonymous recipe: this is on a whole different level.
Texture is the real highlight — creamy just enough to coat every bite in a hug of flavor that wins you over at the first taste. And let’s be honest: it’s one of those dishes that becomes addictive. One leads to another, and finishing by mopping up the sauce is practically mandatory. Thanks to my sister Silvia.
Perfect for when you want to bring something simple yet satisfying to the table, these bites are ideal for a stress-free dinner that delivers great satisfaction. Comfort food yes, but with style.
- Difficulty: Very easy
- Cost: Very affordable
- Preparation time: 5 Minutes
- Cooking time: 40 Minutes
- Portions: 4 People
- Cooking methods: Stovetop
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 1 1/3 lbs turkey (pre-cut bite-sized pieces)
- 2 tbsp flour
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 onion
- 1 tbsp vegetable bouillon (granular)
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
- 3/4 cup milk (unsweetened plant-based milk also works)
- 1/2 cube Golden Curry Medium (or curry powder)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- to taste salt
Steps
1 – Dredge the turkey bites in flour, coating them in a thin layer of flour.
2 – In a nonstick saucepan, add the olive oil and the finely chopped onion and sauté over low heat for a few minutes.
3 – Place the bites in the pan and brown them over medium heat until lightly golden on all sides.
4 – Add the granulated vegetable bouillon and mix it with the turkey bites while they brown.
5 – At this point, pour the white wine over the meat, turn the heat up slightly, and let it cook off for a few minutes. In the meantime, stir the bites in the pan.
6 – Add the soy sauce, the 3/4 cup of milk (unsweetened plant-based milk is fine), and the 1/2 cube of Golden Curry Medium (alternatively you can replace it with half a teaspoon of curry powder). Taste and, if needed, add a pinch of salt.
7 – Stir the meat well to prevent it from sticking, cover and cook for about 35-40 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally.
8 – During cooking a delicious and flavorful cream will form. If the meat is not yet tender enough and the cream is reducing too much, add a few tablespoons of milk to loosen it and finish cooking.
