SHRIMP with Lemon Sauce

Preparing shrimp with lemon sauce is really simple and they make a delicious fish main dish. You can accompany them with basmati rice or a simple lamb’s lettuce salad or boiled potatoes. It is a dish that can also be served as an appetizer or in a buffet.

After cleaning the shrimp from the shell and intestine, quickly cook them in a pan and then prepare the lemon sauce to pour over the shellfish before serving. Moreover, you can also use the lemon sauce to season white meats, such as grilled chicken breast or stewed thighs.

Ingredients

  • 10 shrimp
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 coffee cups water
  • Half lemon (juice)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • to taste salt – pepper – chopped parsley

Steps

  • Clean the shrimp by removing the shell from the head to the tail with a small pair of scissors and remove the intestine from the back.

  • In a non-stick pan, add a drizzle of oil and sear the shrimp for 1 minute.

    They will turn from gray to pink, remove them from the pan and keep them warm.

  • In the same pan where you seared the shrimp, add oil, water, lemon, crushed garlic, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and chopped parsley.

    Cook the lemon sauce until it becomes creamy and thick.

  • At this point, arrange the shrimp on the serving plate and pour the lemon sauce over them.

    They are excellent accompanied by basmati rice or a lamb’s lettuce salad.
