- Preparation time: 5 Minutes
- Portions: 8 Pieces
- Cooking methods: Stovetop
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 1 2/3 cups all-purpose (type 0) flour
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/3 cup milk (plant-based milk also works)
- 2 tbsp sunflower oil (olive oil also works)
- 1 tsp fine salt
- 2 tsp baking powder (for savory preparations)
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
Steps
In a bowl put all the ingredients: flour, water, milk, oil, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Mix the mixture with a fork until you obtain a soft, workable dough. Then let it rest for 10 minutes (the short rest is my secret).
If you use a pan like mine, the one in the photo (click this link to see it) grease it with a brush of olive oil, then place 1 heaping tablespoon of dough in each compartment.
If instead you use a nonstick pan, grease it with a little olive oil, then pour 1 heaping tablespoon of dough for each bun, spacing them apart.
Cook the buns until they are golden and well puffed (about 2-3 minutes), then flip them and finish cooking.
Let them cool slightly before serving or filling them according to your tastes.
They keep for several days and can also be frozen.
