It is not always easy to get our kids to eat fruit, but with apple slices and honey in puff pastry, we will succeed without problems. This is a delicious snack to enjoy during snack time at school or in free time.

- Difficulty: Very Easy
- Cost: Economical
- Preparation time: 1 Hour
- Portions: 10 apple slices
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: Autumn, Autumn, Winter
Ingredients
- 1 sheet Rectangular puff pastry
- 2 Small apples
- as needed Honey
Preparation
1) Wash and peel the apples. Remove the core with an apple corer and then cut them into slices.
You can use any type of apple you like; personally, I often use the “Annurca” apple, typical of my area when available.
2) Cut the puff pastry sheet into squares large enough to comfortably wrap each apple slice. Brush each square with a thin layer of honey (wildflower, chestnut, acacia, lime, forest, etc.), place a slice in the center, wrap it in the puff pastry, and close it as if it were candy wrapping.
3) Place each “candy” on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and, after finishing the ingredients, place the baking sheet in the fridge for about 30 minutes to allow the puff pastry to rise during baking.
Puff pastry, in fact, does not like to be handled, so it is best to store it in a cool place before baking.
4) Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 392°F. Bake the apple slices in crust in the already hot oven, at mid-height, for about 20 minutes or until golden. Remove them from the oven and let them cool before enjoying them or storing them in freezer bags.
