Fennel Seed and Ginger Herbal Tea

The fennel seed and ginger herbal tea is a healthy and natural beverage, fragrant and easy to prepare. Fennel seeds are generally used in cooking as a spice for sweet and savory dishes or as a preservative; in reality, they also have many beneficial properties for the body, as well as for the palate. They possess antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, digestive, thirst-quenching properties, and many more. In this tea, I added some fresh ginger, also aromatic and rich in health benefits. Herbal teas also have more practical advantages, if I may say so. Thanks to their pleasant aromas, this type of beverage is ideal for helping and encouraging us to drink more throughout the day, making it easier to reach the well-known two-liter water intake; additionally, they can be consumed either hot or cold at any time of the day (with some exceptions).

Steps

Cut and peel the ginger root (2 grams are roughly equivalent to three-quarters of an inch of fresh ginger root), place it in the water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.

When the water boils, add the fennel seeds, cover and let boil for a couple more minutes. Finally, turn off the heat, cover, and let steep for at least 10 minutes.

After the time has passed, strain, sweeten with a little honey, granulated or cane sugar as desired, and enjoy this fragrant tea hot (especially on cold autumn and winter days) or cold.

You can prepare a larger quantity of tea and drink it throughout the day. Not only will it be good for your health, but it will also help you quench your thirst and aid digestion after a hearty meal, as fennel seeds are a natural digestive.
