The portions obtained with a single glass of water vary according to the size of the cups or ice cream bowls we will use to serve them (the number of servings in the instructions refers to ice cream bowls).

To achieve the frothy barley dessert, it is necessary to use very cold water, cups, and utensils.

Pour the sugar and instant barley into a bowl (also cold) and mix them.

Add the very cold water from the fridge and beat the mixture with an electric mixer for 3 to 5 minutes (depending on the speed of the device) until you obtain a creamy and frothy mixture.

Pour the frothy barley dessert into ice cream glasses or in smaller cups or glasses (like those in the picture, perfect for a sweet mid-afternoon snack) and serve immediately.

After a few hours in the fridge, the frothy dessert tends to become liquid again; whipping it again with the beaters, it returns to a frothy and creamy state without difficulty.

In addition to the frothy dessert, with this same recipe we can also prepare a spoon dessert with a firmer consistency, more similar to ice cream and that still melts in your mouth. It’s very easy; simply put the container with the ready frothy dessert in the freezer, or the already filled cups, cover them well and leave them for at least 1 hour….I assure you that my guests enjoyed it very much, even those who are slightly more hesitant because they are coffee-dependent.
