Rosehip Infusion with Orange Fragrance

The infusion of rosehip with orange fragrance is a very pleasant, fragrant drink, lactose-free and gluten-free, easy and above all very healthy. Rosehip, in fact, is known primarily for its high vitamin C content; in reality, it also has many other properties, including vasoprotective and anti-inflammatory effects. The orange peel is rich in essential oils that give a very pleasant aroma and are also very good for our body. This infusion can be drunk hot or warm, and we can enjoy it plain or with some honey to sweeten it. The taste of rosehip is slightly and pleasantly tangy. It is an excellent natural remedy to counteract the first winter colds and especially to warm us up when it’s cold.

Ingredients

  • 4.2 cups water
  • 0.56 oz rosehip petals
  • 1 orange
  • to taste honey (optional)

Tools

  • 1 Peeler
  • 1 Brush
  • 1 Tea Infuser

Steps

Wash and brush an orange well. Using a peeler or a sharp knife, cut out the peel, being careful not to remove the white inner part of the peel which is bitter.

Put the peels in a saucepan and bring them to a boil, letting them boil on low heat for a couple of minutes.

Turn off the heat and add the rosehip, cover the container with a small plate and let it infuse for about 15 minutes.

You can pour the boiling water with the orange peels directly into a teapot or tea infuser (a French press works fine too), add the rosehip, cover with the appropriate lid, and let it infuse.

After the time has passed, strain the drink and enjoy this goodness that nature provides us with.

The extra idea. In addition to the orange peel, you can use the peel of a mandarin, a lemon, or a kumquat (Chinese mandarin).
