Chocolate Salami Without Eggs

CHOCOLATE SALAMI WITHOUT EGGS Raise your hand if you’ve eaten it at least once in your life! It’s the classic recipe that takes us back to childhood, reminiscent of afternoons spent at home playing in the kitchen with mom, when everything was simple and light, in short, a recipe from the heart… A few days ago my daughter Arianna asked me to make it because she had eaten it at a friend’s house and she liked it so much, and I have to admit I wondered why I had never made it for her (my fault) so immediately to work in the kitchen, come with me I’ll explain how to make chocolate salami!

  • 2.5 oz dark chocolate

Preparation of chocolate salami without eggs

As you will read, the preparation of this recipe is very quick, you just need to organize in advance with small steps that will make the preparation even faster!

  • The first thing to do is to break the chocolate into pieces and melt it in a double boiler or in the microwave, using the function suitable for melting and softening, for about 1 minute (but remember to stir it after about 30 seconds). As soon as the chocolate is melted, set it aside and follow the same procedure with the butter, which should be melted and then set aside.

  • Now take a large bowl, put the cookies in it and start crumbling them with your hands, we should get pieces that are not too big because it will be pleasant to find them during the bite.

  • Once the cookies are crumbled, add the cocoa first and then the sugar and mix well, now add the melted and now cooled butter and mix again. Finally, add the melted chocolate and with the help of your hands mix well and add a little milk, just enough to get a workable but not soft mixture.

  • Now spread a large enough sheet of parchment paper on the work surface, place the salami mixture in the center, giving it the shape of a sausage, and now roll it up tightly to create the shape of the salami and close the ends as if it were candy paper.

  • Let our chocolate salami rest for at least 4 hours in the refrigerator, if you have shorter times, put it in the freezer for an hour and then move it to the fridge. Just before serving, mix a little unsweetened cocoa and sugar and roll it to give it an even more realistic effect!

One more tip:

* If you are making the chocolate salami just for adults, you can replace the milk with a shot of your favorite liqueur;

* To make it even more delicious, replace 1.8 oz of dry cookies with dried fruit of your choice, try mixing almonds and hazelnuts!
