Useful Tools for Making Quick Chocolate Treats

Preparation of Quick Chocolate Treats

As you will read, the preparation of these treats is really quick, the only tip I suggest is (if the Nutella is too solid) to warm it for a few seconds in the microwave to make it a bit more liquid.

  • Take a sheet of phyllo dough and place it on the work surface, then with the help of a teaspoon, let some Nutella drip randomly on half of the sheet. Fold the phyllo dough sheet, pressing well with your hands.

  • With the help of a wheel cutter, cut the phyllo dough sheet exactly in half, then brush the edges with the melted and cooled butter.

  • At the base of each phyllo dough square, place some chocolate chips and some hazelnut crumbs, then fold the lower and side edges and start rolling until completely closed.

  • If you like, you can also coat the outside of the rolls with the little remaining butter, then cook them in the air fryer at 356°F for about 78 minutes.

  • Here your quick chocolate treats are ready to be enjoyed, I just recommend letting them cool a bit before serving!

An Extra Tip:

* Phyllo dough is extremely thin and tends to dry out very quickly, becoming fragile and difficult to work with.
Moisture is the key: As soon as you open the package, take out the sheets you need and immediately cover the remaining phyllo dough with a damp and well-wrung cloth or plastic wrap. This will keep it flexible and manageable.

* The filling is the heart of your treat, and some precautions will help you manage it best.
Placement: Place the chocolate chips and hazelnut crumbs in the center of the phyllo dough sheet (or layered sheets), leaving space on the edges for closure. This will prevent the filling from leaking during cooking.
Quantity: Do not overfill. Excess may make it difficult to close the bundle and cook it evenly.

* If you don’t want to go overboard with calories, you can brush the phyllo dough with water instead of melted butter.

* You can get creative with your favorite fillings, unleashing your imagination!
