SAVORY CHEESE AND HAM PIE Those who follow me know that I love donuts and savory pies. Not only am I fond of them, but they are also a very simple recipe that can be prepared in just a few minutes. They are extremely useful for using up leftover cold cuts and cheeses that we often have in the fridge and don’t know how to use. While preparing this savory pie, I noticed I didn’t have any instant yeast for savory pizzas, so I tried using fresh yeast, and the result was still excellent. For convenience, I’ll also indicate the amount of fresh yeast to use; the procedure remains the same, only the resting times will vary. But now, follow me to the kitchen, I’ll tell you the recipe for the savory cheese and ham pie!

Preparation of the savory cheese pie
As you can read, the preparation of this savory pie is really quick, you just need to have all the ingredients at hand and turn on the oven a bit earlier to be ready to bake it as soon as you finish preparing it. If you are forgetful like me and have to use fresh yeast instead, you’ll need to wait for it to rise (about 2 hours) and then you can bake it.
Take a large bowl, crack the eggs, and start beating them with a whisk, continuing to stir, add the milk first and then the oil gradually.
You will get a light, liquid mixture; now add the sifted flour together with the cornstarch and the packet yeast (if using fresh yeast, dissolve it in the milk) and continue mixing until you obtain a creamy mixture.
Add the grated cheese, then the cooked ham and finally the mozzarella for pizza cut into julienne (or diced), season with salt and pepper, and our savory pie is ready to be baked.
Lightly grease and flour the pan, pour in the mixture, and bake in a static oven at 375°F for about 20/25 minutes or until the surface is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry.
Let our savory cheese and ham pie rest for a few minutes before enjoying it, but remember it will be excellent even cold!
