Delicious Stuffed Pears

in

These stuffed pears are a very delicious and light spoon dessert. In my dessert recipes, one ingredient almost never missing is fruit. Indeed, fruit naturally sweetens, satisfies, and is zero Weight Watchers Propoints, making it perfect for dessert creation.

Obviously, pears pair well with cheese, as the saying goes, but alas, cheese has many Weight Watchers points, except for the softer and fresher ones like ricotta. So ricotta it is, plus a few other ingredients to make this little treat so delicious.

Perfect to enjoy at the end of dinner, but also for breakfast or snack. For cooking, I used my trusty air fryer, but you can also use an oven, of course. The recipe has two variations, let’s read them…

Here are some other light spoon snacks:

Delicious Stuffed Pears, Eat Without Guilt
  • Difficulty: Very easy
  • Cost: Very economical
  • Preparation time: 5 Minutes
  • Portions: 1 or 2
  • Cooking methods: Oven, Air Fryer
  • Cuisine: Healthy
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients

  • 1 Duchess pear
  • 2.1 oz light ricotta (or 1 oz ricotta and 2.1 oz fat-free Greek yogurt)
  • 2 tsps honey
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.2 oz sliced almonds (or 2 chopped walnuts)
  • Points for half pear = 2 WW points
  • Points for full pear with ricotta= 4 WW points
  • Points for full pear with ricotta and yogurt= 3 WW points

Tools

  • Air Fryer

Preparation

  • Wash the pear well, dry it, and cut it in half lengthwise. Hollow out the core by carving around it and removing it with a teaspoon.

Air fryer cooking: place the two pear halves open side up in a pan that fits in your air fryer’s basket. Cook at 392°F for about 10 minutes.

Oven cooking: place the two pear halves open side up in a pan and bake at 392°F-428°F for about 15-20 minutes.

Whether you cook it in the oven or air fryer, the pear should be cooked but still firm and should not become mushy.

  • While the pear is cooking, you can prepare the filling. Place the ricotta (or ricotta and yogurt), cinnamon, and a teaspoon of honey in a small bowl. Mix well until you obtain a homogeneous cream. Once the pear is cooked, place the two halves on a small plate and distribute the ricotta cream in the two cavities. Also, distribute the sliced almonds (or the two chopped walnuts) and finish with the other teaspoon of honey drizzled on top.

  • A sprinkle of cinnamon and the dessert is ready to be enjoyed warm: ideal when it’s cold and rainy outside, it also brings joy thanks to the aroma it emits…

  • I found these stuffed pears very delicious, both with the ricotta filling alone and with the ricotta and yogurt mix: in the first case, there is less cream but the contrast between cheese and pear is more pronounced; with yogurt, however, there is more cream and a more delicate taste. I suggest you try both: which one will you like more?

    Enjoy!
