Ingredients for pancakes
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- to taste maple syrup
Tools
- Whisk
Preparation of the Pancakes
Take a bowl and crack an egg into it. Beat it with a whisk while adding the sugar.
Melt the butter over low heat in a small pan or in the microwave for a few seconds. Let it cool to room temperature, then pour it into the egg and sugar mixture.
Add the milk and mix well.
Sift the flour gradually into the mixture, continuing to stir with the whisk to avoid lumps. Finally, add the baking powder and mix vigorously until smooth and homogeneous batter is obtained.
Heat a small non-stick pan over medium heat. If necessary, grease the surface with a light layer of butter.
Pour a ladleful of batter into the center of the pan (if the ladle is large, do not fill it completely as the batter will rise during cooking).
When the base is golden, flip the pancake with a spatula and cook the other side until golden. Remove it from the pan and continue with the rest of the batter, stacking the pancakes on a plate as they are ready.
At the end of cooking, sprinkle the pancakes with maple syrup and serve immediately.
Tips
You can also fill the pancakes with hazelnut cream or any other spread, distributing it between each layer.
For an extra touch, decorate with fresh fruit, dried fruit, or chocolate chips.
If you prefer, replace the maple syrup with honey or finish with a dollop of whipped cream.
