- milk (or beaten egg)

Making the puff pastry trees with hazelnut spread is very simple.
First, take the puff pastry out of the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for 5 minutes before unrolling it.
Then spread hazelnut cream evenly, or Nutella if you prefer, over the puff pastry.
Now, using a knife or pizza cutter, cut strips about 3/4 inch wide.
Fold each strip to form a tree shape and secure it with a skewer toothpick.Place the trees on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, then brush them with milk or beaten egg, and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes.
Let cool slightly and remove the toothpicks before serving.
