Zebra Banana Bread

After the delicious first version of my banana bread, I decided to try a new one, the zebra banana bread. This one is also good, made with whole wheat flour and plain yogurt, and made really tasty by the presence of cocoa and chocolate.

If you haven’t tried it yet, here you can find the more classic version:

zebra banana bread
  • Difficulty: Very easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 8
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients

  • 3 bananas
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 packet baking powder
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • as needed dark chocolate chips (optional)

Steps

  • To prepare the zebra banana bread, start by putting the eggs with the sugar in a bowl, then mix with a manual whisk to get a homogeneous mixture. Add the yogurt and milk. Mix, then start incorporating the all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, and baking powder into the liquid mixture.

In a separate bowl, mash 2 bananas with a fork until they are pureed, and add them to the previous mixture. Mix everything well.

Now divide the batter into two parts and add the cocoa powder to one, then mix.

Now take a 10-inch loaf pan. Butter and flour it. Pour in the batter by alternating 2 tablespoons of light batter and 2 tablespoons of dark batter, continue until all is used.

  • Take the third banana, peel and cut it in half lengthwise, then place it on the semi-liquid surface. Add dark chocolate chips if desired. Then bake at 350°F, preheated oven, for 55-60 minutes.

Let it cool completely before removing it from the pan.
