Agretti in Jar Cooking

Agretti in jar cooking is a recipe for microwave cooking and preserving agretti, thanks to the vacuum seal. A long time ago I proposed the recipe for salmon with agretti in jar cooking, but this time I preferred to offer you agretti cooked in purity, which, like spinach in jar cooking, can be used to season a first course or enjoyed as a side dish, or as a second course by adding some eggs. The recipe is very simple and the most tedious part will be cleaning the agretti because they hold a lot of dirt.

Now, get your jars ready and let’s make the best jar-cooked agretti recipe there is!

Ingredients

  • 1 lbs agretti (Gross weight – net 10.6 oz)
  • 2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 pinches salt

What you need to cook agretti in a jar

You can buy jars suitable for jar cooking in the microwave, already equipped with 4 clips, on the website Decorazioni dolci, with discount code WECK10.

  • 1 Microwave oven
  • 2 Jars 500 ml with thin seal
  • 1 Colander

Steps

  • Take the bunch of agretti and cut off the lower woody part. Remove any spoiled threads and then wash the agretti thoroughly, directly in the colander. Drain the agretti well and then distribute them in the 2 jars.

  • Season the agretti with salt and oil, you can add garlic and chili pepper to taste. Close the jars with the lid, seal, and the 4 clips, making sure to press the agretti so they do not end up between the glass and the seal.

Place one jar of agretti in the microwave and cook for 5 minutes at your tested power, I use 600 watts.

  • After cooking, remove the jar from the microwave, cook the second jar, and then let the closed jars rest for at least 20 minutes. During this phase, the recipe will finish cooking at a low temperature, and the vacuum will form in the jar, allowing you to store the agretti in the refrigerator for 15 days.

  • When you want to enjoy the agretti as if freshly made, simply remove the clips, place a jar in the microwave and run for 2 minutes with defrost function (if cold from the fridge), plus 2 minutes at the same power used for cooking.
