How to make crostini in the air fryer in just a few minutes. Here is a delicious recipe to use up stale bread and obtain slices of flavored and toasted bread, ready for many recipes. This recipe is taken from my book Air Fryer (Ed. Gribaudo) and is part of the ‘appetizers and snacks’ category, like the fried mussels and the fried gnocchi. I must say I had fun creating both more elaborate recipes and simpler ones, let’s say for everyday use. Like these air fryer crostini. Great to enjoy as is, broken up on a salad, or to enrich a velvety soup.
For this recipe, I used a baguette, but clearly, you can use rye bread or whole grain bread. The choice is yours, based on your habits.

- Seasonality: All seasons
Ingredients
- 1 baguette (about 6 oz)
- 3 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 pinches oregano
- 2 pinches salt
Tools you need to toast bread in an air fryer
- 1 Air fryer
- 1 Small bowl
- 1 Brush
- 1 Garlic press
Procedure
Pour the oil into the small bowl and add the chopped garlic cloves, salt, oregano, and mix well. For extra flavor, let the seasoning rest for 30 minutes.
Slice the baguette into diagonal slices and brush them with the seasoning.
Place the bread slices in the air fryer and start cooking at 400°F for 6-7 minutes. Then, flip the crostini and continue cooking for another 6-7 minutes or until they have a nice golden color.
Remove them immediately from the basket and let them cool on a rack. This way they’ll stay nice and crispy, and once cooled, you can store the crostini in a bag. If you prefer, serve the crostini hot, accompanied by soft cheese and a bed of tomatoes.
Tips for seasoning air fryer bread crostini
Crostini lend themselves to many variations, depending on the herbs you have available. For example, they can be seasoned with dried shallots and thyme, or chives, or lime and pink pepper to accompany fish dishes. In short, let your creativity flow and try the crostini in the air fryer.
