Air Fryer Fried Artichokes

Ingredients for making breaded artichokes

  • 4 1/4 cups water
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 3 artichokes
  • 2 tbsps rice flour
  • 2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 pinches salt

What you need

  • 1 Air fryer
  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Knife

Procedure

  • To start, pour the flour into the bowl, add the water, and mix well. Remove the tougher outer leaves from the artichokes, peel the stem, and cut the artichokes in half. Remove the inner choke and then cut them into thin wedges, letting them fall into the water and flour. While cleaning the rest of the artichokes, occasionally stir the artichokes in the water.

  • Once cleaning is complete, drain the artichokes well and pat them dry with a dish towel. Return them to the dried bowl and season with oil. Mix well and then add the flour. Mix again.

  • Spread the artichokes in the air fryer basket and cook for 8 minutes at 356°F. Shake the basket to mix the artichokes and finish cooking for another 2-3 minutes at 392°F. Serve the air fryer fried artichokes hot, salting the surface.

Frozen Artichokes in the Air Fryer

Let the artichokes thaw slightly, flour them, and distribute them in the air fryer basket. Spray them with oil and cook for 8 minutes at 338°F, then increase the temperature to 392°F and continue cooking for another 3 minutes.

Boiled and Air Fryer Cooked Artichokes

If the artichokes you’ve purchased are tough and have a lot of choke, it’s better to boil them in boiling water for 6-7 minutes, drain them, and proceed with the recipe.
