Microwave gratinated cauliflower is a quick side dish to enjoy cauliflower in a gratin form and in florets. Starting with cooking the microwave cauliflower, I made it more appetizing and different from usual by gratinating it in the microwave. I love cooking vegetables in the microwave as they retain their vitamins, remain firmer, and don’t fill the house with odors, like these microwave cauliflower cutlets.
The recipe for making microwave gratinated cauliflower is very simple and you will only need a ceramic or Pyrex baking dish, which is suitable for microwaving and can be used for everything. After steaming the cauliflower, I sprinkled it with seasoned breadcrumbs, and at the end of cooking, I added chopped parsley, and voilà, the recipe was ready to be served.

How to prepare breadcrumbed cauliflower in the microwave
Start by cleaning, washing, and dividing the cauliflower into florets.
Distribute the cauliflower in the baking dish, lightly salt it, and adhere a sheet of cling film to the dish. Poke 2 small holes in the film to allow the steam to escape. Cook the cauliflower in the microwave at 750 W for about 10 minutes, this way it will steam and soften without having to boil it in water.
Once the cooking time is over, do not open the microwave and let the cauliflower rest inside for another 10 minutes, with the microwave off.
Meanwhile, prepare the seasoned breadcrumbs. In a blender/mixer, combine the breadcrumbs and grated cheese with 1/2 bunch of parsley and the garlic. Blend everything to obtain a fairly fine aromatic powder.
Remove the film from the baking dish, sprinkle the cauliflower with the breadcrumbs, season with oil and pepper, and gratinate the cauliflower in the microwave, this time with the combined microwave + grill function at about 650 watts, for 8/10 minutes.
Serve the cauliflower while still hot.
You can store the microwave gratinated cauliflower in the fridge for up to two days.

For an extra touch and to make it more filling, if desired, you can add a chopped anchovy to the breadcrumbs before gratinating.
