Microwave Lentil Ragù is another delicious recipe to add to my Microwave Recipes, as easy as always and cooked entirely in the microwave, so you only dirty one pot and save time and effort.
After I wrote the article on Which accessories to use for the microwave, many of you purchased on my advice the microwave craftina, a suitable warming pot for the microwave, allowing you to cook different preparations from savory to sweet (if you like, I also wrote a collection with all my Recipes with Microwave Craftina).
This microwave-cooked lentil ragù is really easy to make, economical, and it is my vegan version of the classic Microwave Jar-Cooked Ragù, making it perfect for any type of healthy and balanced diet.
With lentils, you can make numerous recipes, they are very versatile, like my Jar-Cooked Lentil Soup, or Spicy Red Lentils or even Instant Pot Lentil Soup, so an ingredient for various preparations with different appliances!

Ingredients
- 14 oz peeled tomatoes
- 10 oz lentils
- 3/4 cup water
- 3 tbsp red wine
- 1.5 oz soffritto mix
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch pepper
- nutmeg
What You Need to Cook Lentil Ragù in the Microwave
- 1 Pot microwave heating
How to Prepare Lentil Ragù
Place the dry lentils in a large, microwave-safe bowl.
Cover the lentils with water.
Cover the bowl with microwave-safe plastic wrap and cook for 8 minutes at 800W.
After microwaving, remove and let rest for an additional 15 minutes, still covered with plastic wrap.
Place the vegetable mix in the craftina.
Add the oil and sauté for 2 minutes at 1000W.
Take the pot again, deglaze with red wine, stir and let evaporate for 2 minutes at 1000W.
Season the lentils with nutmeg, pepper, and salt.
Then add the tomato paste and crushed peeled tomatoes.
Stir to combine the ingredients.
Finally, add the water and stir.
Cover the pot with its lid.
Place in the oven and cook at 600W for 40 minutes. After cooking time, remove the microwave lentil ragù and use it immediately to season your favorite pasta shapes!
How to Store Lentil Ragù
Store the microwave-cooked lentil ragù in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze it.
