Microwave Stuffed Pasta

Microwave Stuffed Pasta is one of my Main Courses to add to the collection of Microwave Recipes because it is almost entirely cooked in the microwave, starting with the Stuffed Pasta Filling cooked by microwave jar cooking. (For those unfamiliar with microwave jar cooking, I recommend reading the Instructions for microwave jar cooking)

After much simpler recipes like my Microwave Tomato Pasta, I decided to make microwave stuffed pasta to help everyone who wants to bring something tasty to the table this Christmas without doing too much work or dirtying too many pans! So, unless you’ve already opted for the Stuffed Pasta in Jar Cooking, cooked in single-serving jars, or the more classic Lasagna Bolognese in Jar Cooking, I absolutely recommend preparing these microwave stuffed paccheri.

You just need to prepare the filling and the tomato sauce, which you can choose to cook either in the Tomato Sauce in Jar Cooking or the Microwave Tomato Sauce or even the Instant Pot Tomato Sauce. You can’t miss trying it!

How to prepare stuffed pasta in the microwave

  • To start, prepare the Microwave Tomato Sauce.

Finely chop the onion and place it in a bowl, add the oil and cleaned, crushed garlic, and saute in the microwave for 2 minutes at about 750 watts.

Add the peeled tomatoes to the sautéed onion and crush them with a fork, add a pinch of salt, stir, and cook for 8 minutes at 750 watts, stirring halfway through cooking.

If the tomato sauce boils too strongly in the microwave, you can place a microwave splatter guard on the bowl. At the end of cooking, remove the garlic clove and add the basil leaves, stir, and let it rest.

  • Take your Microwave Jar Cooking Pasta Filling that is already prepared and open the jar in the microwave.

Heat the water in a large pot. When the water boils, pour the paccheri into the water and cook them for half their cooking time.

Drain them, cool them under running water to stop the cooking, and place them in a bowl with a little oil so they don’t stick to each other.

Take a baking dish, spread a layer of tomato sauce on the base.

Stuff the paccheri with the pasta filling and arrange them upright in the baking dish.

Sprinkle the surface of the paccheri with two tablespoons of béchamel sauce and two tablespoons of tomato sauce.

Finish with a generous sprinkle of grated cheese.

Cook the stuffed pasta in the microwave for 15 minutes using the microwave plus grill combined function until a delicious crust forms on the surface.

Once ready, take them out of the oven and serve them hot.
