Orange Chicken in Multicooker

Orange Chicken in Multicooker, a new recipe to add to my numerous Main Courses with Instant Pot, very easy to make and truly delicious, with a sauce that makes the chicken almost caramelized!

A perfect main dish to accompany my Pilaf Rice in the multifunction pot, but also, why not, my Roasted Potatoes with Instant Pot, a simple dish but with a truly irresistible taste!

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs, skin-on, cooked, roasted (about 1.4 lbs)
  • 3 white onions
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 oranges
  • salt
  • pepper
  • cumin
  • paprika
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • parsley

What you need to cook the orange chicken

  • 1 multicooker

How to prepare orange chicken in multicooker

  • Place the chicken thighs in a bowl along with the two peeled and crushed garlic cloves, paprika and cumin.

  • Add salt, pepper, and extra virgin olive oil.

  • Cut one orange and squeeze half directly into the bowl.

    Mix to distribute the flavors into the chicken.

  • Pour two nice drizzles of oil into the multicooker.

    Peel the onions and slice them thinly.

    Place the onions inside the multicooker with a pinch of salt and sauté, using the “fry” function at 392°F for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

  • Once the onions are golden, add the chicken.

    Sear the chicken, still using the “fry” function at 392°F for another 5 minutes.

    Deglaze with the juice of the other orange and the bowl’s contents.

    Close the pot, and cook using the “pressure” function for 15 minutes.

  • At the end of cooking, add half of the remaining orange sliced and chopped parsley.

    If necessary, reduce the cooking liquid for a few minutes at 392°F.

    Serve hot.
