What You Need for Jar Cooking

The jars suitable for jar cooking can be purchased, already equipped with 4 clamps, on the site Decorazioni dolci, with discount code WECK10.

  • 1 Microwave
  • 1 Jar liter with thin gasket or 750 ml with thick gasket
  • 1 Microwave tray
  • 1 Immersion blender

How to Make Lentils in Jar Cooking

  • Chop the onion and garlic clove, distribute them in the microwave pot, add the oil and sauté for 1 minute at 800 watts. Then, add the tomato paste, paprika, mix and sauté for another 30 seconds.

Meanwhile, distribute the lentils in the jar, add the stock cube, water, and finally the sautéed mixture. Mix the ingredients well and then clean the rim of the jar, close and clamp it.

Cook the lentil jar in the microwave for 6 minutes, at your tested power (I use 600 watts), then, protecting your hands with a dish towel, gently shake the jar to mix the lentils. Continue cooking for another 6 minutes.

At the end of cooking, let the closed jar rest for an hour, this will complete the cooking of the lentils and a vacuum will form in the jar, allowing you to store the recipe for 15 days in the refrigerator.

  • To enjoy the red lentils in jar cooking, just remove the clamps, put the jar in the microwave and heat it to the desired temperature, always at the tested power, for a well-heated recipe it will take about 4 minutes. If the jar is cold from the fridge, start first for 2-3 minutes with the defrost function. Remove the lid from the jar and insert the immersion blender, blend for a few seconds until you get the lentil cream. Distribute it into two bowls and garnish with grated lemon zest, chopped chili pepper, and aromatic herbs. If desired, you can add a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil. Serve the lentil cream and enjoy your meal.
