How to Prepare the Sandwich Dome
To prepare the Sandwich Dome, I recommend first having all the ingredients ready, cleaned, and cut on the table, so you can efficiently assemble the recipe.
Then:
Wash the Romaine lettuce leaves and dry them well.
Wash and dry the tomatoes and cut them into slices.
Also slice the mozzarella and dry it with some kitchen paper.
Place the eggs in a saucepan with cold water and place on the stove. When the water boils, cook for 9 minutes. Once cooked, cool them under cold running water, then peel and slice them.
Drain the tuna from the oil.
At this point, line the bowl with food wrap, this will make it easier to extract the dome from the bowl.
Place the romaine lettuce leaves vertically, covering the entire surface of the bowl and letting a good part extend over the edge of the bowl.
Brush 4 slices of whole wheat bread with mayonnaise and place them on the lettuce.
Press a bit to set them.
Arrange the tomato slices over all the bread to cover it.
Lightly salt the tomatoes and add some torn basil for flavor.
Add half of the mozzarella slices.
Cover with slices of cooked ham.
Cover with slices of hard-boiled eggs and then with the mixed salad greens.
Place half of the Milano salami slices on top.
Brush another 4 slices of whole wheat bread with mayonnaise and place them on the salami. Cover with more tomatoes and more mozzarella.
Add the remaining half of the cooked ham slices, the drained tuna, and the mixed salad greens.
Finally, finish with the remaining slices of hard-boiled eggs.
Fold the lettuce leaves you left over the edge towards the inside, gently press to settle everything.
Close the food wrap over the surface of the dome and place it in the fridge to rest for at least an hour before serving.
When you are ready to serve it, remove the wrap, invert the Sandwich Dome onto a serving plate and cut it into slices.
How to Store the Sandwich Dome
The Sandwich Dome can be stored for 2 days in the refrigerator.
