Dal tegame al vasetto’s Tips
To cook rice in the microwave, you need double its weight in water. The cooking time is the same as the cooking time indicated on the package, so if you use rice with a shorter cooking time, you will need to reduce the cooking duration.
The advantage of cooking grains in the microwave with the rice cooker is that you don’t have to monitor the cooking and don’t dirty anything except the container used.
Venus Rice with Vegetables in the Microwave
You can add 100 g of frozen peas or asparagus to the rice, mix everything, and at the end of cooking, season with a yogurt sauce or a drizzle of oil and grated Grana Padano.
Brown Rice Cooked in the Microwave
With the same steps, you can also cook black rice and brown rice, respecting the same proportions of water and grain but adapting to the cooking times indicated on the package. Depending on the container’s capacity, you can double the ingredient amounts.
