The avocado and cocoa mousse is a light dessert, an easy and quick cream accessible to everyone that might resemble a dark chocolate pudding. A perfect recipe also for those following a vegan or ketogenic diet. I also recommend the savory mousse avocado and yogurt (or Philadelphia).
SEASONALITY of #Sicilian avocado: from November to June.

BENEFITS of the avocado and cocoa mousse
Nutritionist Carlotta De Rosa speaks
🥑 AVOCADO. Rich in fiber and “good fats”, avocado helps maintain normal cholesterol levels and provides vitamin E (which protects cells from oxidative stress) and potassium (essential for blood pressure regulation and proper muscle function).
🍫 UNSWEETENED COCOA. With its flavonoids, unsweetened cocoa is a great ally for heart and circulatory health. Thanks to magnesium, it also supports metabolism and energy production, stimulating endorphins and serotonin, thus improving mood.
🍁 MAPLE SYRUP or 🍯 HONEY (optional). Natural sweeteners with a lower glycemic index compared to sugar and with a higher sweetening power. Maple syrup is rich in minerals such as manganese and zinc, which strengthen the immune system, while honey offers antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
🍓 BERRIES (optional, for garnishing). Rich in anthocyanins, antioxidants that combat oxidative stress, berries provide a good dose of vitamin C, which helps iron absorption and supports the immune system.
Why is it better to avoid using a blender to mash the avocado?
Avoid using the blender to prevent altering the texture, flavor, and color of the avocado, which could become too liquid and oxidize faster. Mashing by hand maintains the creamy texture and taste.

How to best use avocado?
To best use avocado, slice it when well-ripened and soft, season with salt, oil, and lemon juice (or other citrus), then spread on toasted bread, add to salads, or coarsely mash for making guacamole. Adding it to smoothies will make them creamier.
