Air Fryer Tofu
- 3.5 oz tofu (natural)
- 1 tsp maple syrup (rice or date syrup, or whole cane sugar)
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- Half clove garlic (minced – OPTIONAL)
- 1 tbsp corn flour (instant or crushed oat flakes)
- to taste fine salt
- to taste paprika (and thyme or rosemary)
- to taste nutritional yeast (flakes – optional)
- to taste sesame seeds (optional)

Air Fryer Tofu
Dry the tofu with a paper towel.Cut it into small regular cubes of about 0.4 inches.
Pour into a bowl, add your preferred aromas (I used: maple syrup, oil, and rice vinegar) and mix well. Place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to flavor, stirring occasionally to blend the flavors.
Remove from fridge, mix well and add the ingredients for the breading (corn flour or crushed oat flakes, paprika, aromatic herbs, sesame seeds, and nutritional yeast flakes) along with
salt.Mix again.
Place the tofu in a single layer on the tray, ensuring it is well distributed for even cooking.
🍀 In air fryer: cook at 374°F for 10 minutes or more. For a crunchier texture, flip halfway through cooking.🍀 In convection oven: cook at 338°F for about 20 minutes, stirring halfway through.
It’s best to enjoy the tofu cooked immediately.
STORE cooked air fryer tofu
Store the cooked tofu in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within 2 days.
To reheat, use the oven (5 minutes at 356°F), the air fryer (2 minutes at 320°F), a pan with a drizzle of oil (2 minutes), or the microwave (1 minute).
