Microwave Mug Cake

INGREDIENTS FOR

– 2 cups of 300 ml

or

– 3 cups of 200 ml

  • 1 egg (medium)
  • 2.8 oz raw cane sugar (or white)
  • 2.8 Half teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 oz unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 oz peanut oil
  • 2.3 oz water (or plant-based or cow's milk)

  • 3 Cups 200 ml
  • Microwave Oven

Microwave Mug Cake

  • In a small bowl, mix with a hand whisk (or the electric beaters) the egg with the sugar.

    Then, add the flour, sifted baking powder, cocoa, and mix it well.

    Finally, pour in the oil and water (or milk), mixing well.

    Pour the mixture into the cups and fill them up to 3/4 (three quarters).

    Cook in the microwave at 750W for 3 minutes (without a lid), if you prefer the chocolate mug cake drier, cook for another 30 seconds. Be careful when removing the mug cake from the microwave, it will be very hot.

    Enjoy it warm to discover its soft and delicious core.

  • Bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F for about 15 minutes.

Delicious Variations

With Nesquik: replace cocoa powder with Nesquik and reduce the sugar amount.

Add to the batter at your choice:

– half a pear, diced

– 1 oz of chocolate sprinkles (or chips)

– 1 oz of dark chocolate flakes

– 0.7 oz of sugar pearls

– 1 tablespoon of Goji berries (to be soaked in room temperature water for at least 10 minutes)

Before baking, top with at your choice:

– one tablespoon of pistachio or hazelnut cream (Nutella)

– one tablespoon of jam (apricot or peach)

After eating a few spoons of the mug cake, pour in some milk to create a soggy effect.

Prepare in Advance

The mug cake batter can be prepared in advance, poured into the cup, and placed in the refrigerator until it’s time to bake. It can be stored this way for up to 2 days.
