Homemade orange juice is the best extract for the winter-spring season. This winter I experimented with various combinations with other seasonal fruits and/or vegetables using the juicer.
It’s always better to peel citrus fruits: oranges, tangerines, grapefruits… before using them in the juicer. The essential oil content in their peel can give a bitter and unpleasant taste to the extract. The lemon peel, on the other hand, if organic, can be used since only a small amount is used.

ORANGE JUICE – various combinations
Before turning on the juicer, always check that the dosing cap is closed
JUST ORANGES (about 8.5 oz)
Peel the two oranges and cut them into suitably sized pieces (two segments).
Once extraction is complete, open the dosing cap and pour the obtained juice into the glass.
Orange, banana, and carrot (about 10 oz)
First, wash the organic carrot well and remove only the ends, then cut it into slices or thin sticks. Peel the orange and divide it into pieces of two segments. Peel the banana and cut it into slices. Introduce all ingredients alternately into the juicer and let it run until the juice is perfectly mixed.
Orange and apple (about 8.5 oz)
Wash half an organic carrot well and cut it into slices, cut a thin slice of ginger and wash it. These two ingredients can be omitted.
Peel the orange and divide it into pieces of two segments. Wash and peel the apple only if not organic (if organic, keep the peel), then remove the core and cut it into four or six large slices. Introduce the ingredients alternately into the juicer and let it run until the juice is perfectly mixed.
Orange, kiwi and … (about 10 oz)
First, soak 10 almonds in a little warm water (you can leave them for half an hour to 4 – 5 hours).
Peel the two oranges and divide them into pieces of two segments. Wash the kiwi (do not peel if organic) and cut it into pieces. Introduce the ingredients into the juicer in this order: oranges, kiwi, drained almonds, and 4 basil leaves; let it run until everything is well mixed.
Orange and kale (about 8.5 oz) Peel the two oranges and divide them into pieces of two segments. Wash the kale leaves (black and/or curly) and roll them on themselves on the short side. Introduce the ingredients into the juicer in turn and let it run until everything is completely squeezed.
Orange, lemon, and celery (about 6.75 oz) Peel the orange and divide it into pieces of two segments. Wash the organic lemon and use half of it with the peel and in pieces. Wash the celery stalk and cut it into short pieces. Start the extraction by inserting the celery first. Once all ingredients are well mixed, open the dosing cap and pour the extract into a cup.
Sara’s tips
If the juice is too thick, dilute with some water.
You can always add a small piece of fresh ginger and/or turmeric root to the extracts.
Drink the orange extract immediately after producing it, so it doesn’t lose taste and natural nutritional value.
