Pan-fried Daikon with Carrots

  • 10.5 oz daikon
  • 8.8 oz carrots
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (or peanut oil)
  • to taste dill (or other herbs: coriander, cumin, nutmeg, oregano, rosemary, sage, thyme)

To taste, add some salt or soy sauce at the end of cooking, or season with gomasio

Stir-fried Daikon

  • Clean and wash the vegetables (you can scrape the thin skin off the daikon with a smooth blade knife, while for the carrot use a peeler). Then cut the vegetables into uniform strips.

    In a wok-style pan, pour a tablespoon of oil and cook the vegetables over medium-high heat, stirring continuously with a wooden spoon, for about 10 minutes. Season with spices (turmeric, curry, chili, ginger) and a little salt, or preferably a drizzle of soy sauce in the last minutes of cooking.

    To add fragrance to this side dish, try deglazing with orange juice. And before serving, sprinkle with chia, poppy, mustard, or sesame seeds.

STORAGE of pan-fried daikon

Pan-fried daikon can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 days; it is recommended to consume it freshly made or, alternatively, reheat it by quickly stir-frying for a few minutes before serving.
