If you’re looking for a simple, tasty main dish with an irresistible golden crust, I recommend trying these air fryer chicken drumsticks. I called them chicken drumsticks because, let’s face it, that’s what most of us call them, but in reality, I used drumsticks, which is the lower part of the thigh (the one with the long, thin bone, to be precise). In short, the name changes but the result is always delicious! I’ll admit (and maybe you already know) I’m not a big fan of meat, but these drumsticks really surprised me: tender inside, golden and crispy outside. Mmmmmm… top-notch. They’re also super easy to prepare because after a short marinade the air fryer does the rest without the need for adding too many fats (something I always appreciate). A perfect recipe for a quick but tasty dinner; a recipe that shows how the air fryer can deliver great satisfaction in the kitchen without having to spend hours at the stove. Serve these drumsticks (yes, drumsticks) with paprika potatoes or roasted potatoes and you will have a dish everyone will love. Shall we bet?

Preparation of Air Fryer Chicken Drumsticks
First, check the chicken drumsticks, removing any hairs with tweezers or by singeing them over the stovetop flame.
Then, place them in a container (a baking dish or a bowl), drizzle with a little oil and season with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Sprinkle with chopped rosemary and sage and massage them with your hands to distribute the seasoning everywhere. I drizzled them with a bit more oil after doing these steps. But just a little! Cover and let them marinate for about half an hour in the fridge.
After the marination time, transfer the chicken drumsticks to the basket of a preheated air fryer (naturally, if your air fryer has this option) without overlapping them. If you decide to use parchment paper, remember to poke holes in it to allow proper air circulation or use pre-perforated sheets.
Cook the chicken drumsticks for 25 minutes at 392°F (200°C), turning them halfway through using tongs.
At the end of cooking, they should be well browned; if not, extend the cooking time for a few more minutes at the same temperature: this will be necessary especially if you haven’t preheated the air fryer.
Voilà… we’re ready to serve our air fryer chicken drumsticks (oops, drumsticks). Enjoy! Paola.
