I didn’t use even a drop of oil to prepare these tasty and super crispy air fryer chicken nuggets. I admit that, if desired, a spray of oil can be added before cooking. However, when I think of an air fryer, I think of a light preparation characterized by maximum fat reduction. And so I wanted to try to see if the result would still be enjoyable. And it was! For this reason, I recommend preparing these bites that are incredibly easy and very appetizing.

Ingredients for Air Fryer Chicken
The beauty of this recipe is that many ingredients are measured “by eye.” I love it!
- 9 oz chicken breast (sliced)
- 1 egg
- flour
- paprika
- panko
- salt
- black pepper
Tools
- Meat Tenderizer
- Parchment Paper
- 3 Plates
- Air Fryer
Preparation of Air Fryer Chicken
Cover the chicken breast slices with a sheet of parchment paper and lightly tenderize them with a meat tenderizer to thin them out a bit. Then cut them into strips and lightly salt them.
Crack the egg into a plate, add a pinch of salt and a grind of black pepper, and beat it with a fork.
Place some flour in a plate and add paprika to taste.
Dip the chicken strips first in the seasoned flour, then in the beaten egg, and finally in the panko placed in a third plate. This bread is very easy to make at home; you can find the recipe by clicking HERE. Do not replace it with regular breadcrumbs as you will not achieve the same spiky effect, and the crispiness will not be the same.
Place the chicken nuggets gradually inside the air fryer basket, trying not to overlap them too much. I placed a base of parchment paper on the bottom.
Cook the chicken nuggets in the air fryer at 356°F for 20/25 minutes, turning them halfway through with tongs.
In the end, they should be nicely golden. If necessary, extend the cooking time by a few minutes, then remove them and serve immediately, piping hot. Enjoy! Paola
