It’s called autumn compote but it’s also perfect in winter and it’s absolutely delicious. Not to mention how easy it is to prepare: cut all the fruit into pieces and cook it for half an hour in a saucepan. That’s it! It’s great enjoyed both warm and cold. Also, if you don’t like fruit pieces, you can easily blend it. I ate it by the spoonful. And how well do chopped almonds go with it! They add a truly inviting crunchy touch to the whole. So, you just have to try it and let me know what you think.

Preparation of Autumn Compote
Peel the pears and apples after washing them, remove the core and cut them into chunks.
Do the same with the plums.
Place all the fruit inside a saucepan, sprinkle with the sugar, and add cinnamon as desired.
Then drizzle with water.
Bring the saucepan to the heat and cook the autumn compote over low heat and uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Meanwhile, coarsely chop the almonds with a knife and add them to the fruit once cooking is completed.
Serve the autumn compote warm or cold. I ate it like this and also used it to prepare some delicious sweet puffs, for which you can find the recipe by clicking HERE. Enjoy! Paola
