Do you want to make your appetizers even more original and tasty? Then give a new look to crostini or canapés. I will show you how to make adorable bread flowers that you can fill and decorate as you wish. The method is very simple and is going viral on the web. So I couldn’t resist trying it myself and I must say, I was extremely satisfied. Even the simplest filling becomes special when served in this charming shape. Ingredients for Bread Flowers
- sandwich bread
- Grana Padano cheese (or Parmesan)
Tools
- Rolling Pin
- 1 Rack oven
Preparation of Bread Flowers
First, flatten the slice of sandwich bread with the rolling pin to make it more flexible and easier to shape.
Then, make a cut at each corner as shown in the photos below.
At this point, lift the cut part on the right and overlap it with the one on the top left. Fold the bottom left one and finally fit the bottom right one. I assure you it’s more difficult to describe than to do. If you look at the pictures, you won’t have any problems.
Place the bread flowers on the oven rack and sprinkle them with grated cheese.
Then put them under the oven grill for a few minutes until they are golden and crispy. This step also serves to “seal” them and make them hold together more easily.
Remove the bread flowers from the oven, let them cool slightly, and fill them as desired. Enjoy! Paola
