What is a mocktail? This term comes from English and is a fusion of the word mock (which means fake, sham, simulated) and the word cocktail. So it would be a fake cocktail, that is, a non-alcoholic drink. Yes… because usually alcohol is associated with the idea of a real cocktail and in these drinks, there is no alcohol. What I am offering today is a citrus mocktail, ideal in the cold season when these fruits are at their peak. It is truly delicious, refreshing, light, and invigorating, and it’s perfect for all occasions where there are teetotal guests (like me) to take into account. But I assure you that everyone will love it. Want to bet?

Ingredients for the Citrus Mocktail
- 1 orange
- 1 lime
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp honey
- 7 oz tonic water
- A few leaves mint
- A few cubes ice
Tools
- 1 Citrus Juicer
- 1 Strainer
- 2 Glasses
Preparation of the Citrus Mocktail
Squeeze the juice from the orange and lime and strain them through a fine-mesh strainer. Also strain a tablespoon of lemon juice.
Add a few mint leaves and a tablespoon of honey (I used wildflower honey) and mix carefully.
Divide this “mixed” juice into two wide, low glasses in which a slice of orange and half a slice of lemon have previously been placed.
Finally, add the tonic water.
Just add a few ice cubes, and the citrus mocktail is ready. Serve it immediately, decorating as desired. I added a sprig of fresh mint. Enjoy! Paola.
