Pasta with Tomato, Sausage, and Ricotta

I imagine you’re looking for some inspiration for your next meal, right? I’m here to please you by presenting this pasta with tomato, sausage, and ricotta which is truly delicious. A very hearty first course that is baked for a few minutes. In my house, it has received full approval from everyone. The recipe is not difficult at all, so don’t hesitate to try it! Unfortunately, I lost photos of some steps, but I’m sure you won’t have any problems.

Ingredients for Pasta with Tomato, Sausage, and Ricotta

  • 14 oz Maccheroni
  • 2 Sausages (about 10 oz)
  • 7 oz Tomato pulp
  • 7 oz Ricotta
  • 3.5 oz Grana Padano or Parmesan (grated)
  • 1 Red onion
  • 2 sprigs Thyme
  • to taste Extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper

  • 1 Frying pan
  • 1 Saucepan
  • 1 Pot
  • 1 Baking dish oven-safe

Preparation of Pasta with Tomato, Sausage, and Ricotta

  • Remove the casing from the sausage and crumble it with a fork.

  • Peel the onion and chop it finely. I used a manual cord chopper which I find really convenient. If you want to buy it, you can find it by clicking HERE.

  • In a frying pan, heat a drizzle of water (yes, you read that right… water) and brown the sausage over high heat, stirring it often. It will be ready when it has completely changed color. Turn off the heat and set aside.

  • In a large saucepan, heat a few tablespoons of oil and sauté the chopped onion.

  • Meanwhile, cook the pasta in plenty of salted boiling water, drain it al dente, and transfer it to the saucepan with the onion.

  • Mix, then add some thyme leaves, the sausage, ricotta, tomato pulp, and two tablespoons of grated cheese taken from the total.

  • Season with salt and sprinkle with a generous grinding of black pepper before thoroughly combining all the ingredients.

  • Brush an oven-safe baking dish with oil, transfer all the pasta into it, and sprinkle the surface with the remaining grated cheese.

  • Grill in a preheated oven at 356°F for 10 minutes + a few minutes on grill function.

  • Remove the pasta with tomato, sausage, and ricotta from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Bon appétit to everyone. Enjoy! Paola
