Pomegranate Mojito

After the classic mojito, the black one and the strawberry one, here’s a new version: the pomegranate mojito. Needless to say, I found it delicious. Needless to say, it is very easy to make at home. A drink that suits the cold season and that you could also propose during the holiday period. Have I convinced you? I hope so.

And here you can find more mojito-flavored ideas:

Pomegranate Mojito
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 1 person
  • Cooking methods: No cooking
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: Autumn, Winter

Ingredients for one pomegranate mojito

  • 4.2 oz pomegranate seeds (+ extra for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (10/12 g)
  • Half lime
  • 1 oz white rum
  • 3.4 oz tonic water
  • A few leaves mint (5/6)
  • ice

Tools

  • Blender
  • Strainer small with fine mesh
  • Pestle
  • 1 Glass short and wide

Preparation of the pomegranate mojito

  • Remove the pomegranate seeds: to do it best, without crushing them, follow the instructions by clicking HERE.

  • Remove all the light membranes and transfer them to the blender glass and blend them.

  • Then strain the juice well and set it aside. You will need about 2.4 oz of juice.

  • Put the sugar, mint leaves, and lime pieces in a short and wide glass and crush them with a pestle.

  • Fill the glass with crushed ice. Whole ice cubes are not suitable. A very homemade method I use is to put them in a clean cloth and break them with a meat mallet. You will get coarse crumbs and slightly larger pieces.

  • At this point, add the rum, tonic water, and pomegranate juice.

  • Stir and immediately serve the pomegranate mojito decorated with mint and a few seeds. Enjoy! Paola
