Turmeric and Ginger Herbal Tea

This turmeric and ginger herbal tea should become a staple in our daily routines. Our health would greatly benefit from it. In fact, there are numerous benefits of these two fantastic ingredients, which I have already discussed on the blog (find the article on turmeric HERE and the one on ginger HERE). So, what about this herbal tea? It is perfect for colds, but it’s also good for relieving joint pain in general and arthritis-related pain; excellent for aiding digestion. I would almost call it a sort of natural antibiotic; definitely a wellness elixir. Plus, it’s very easy to make at home. Don’t hesitate… your body will thank you!

Ingredients for Turmeric and Ginger Herbal Tea

Ingredients for two cups of herbal tea.

Two cups a day is the ideal amount. It’s better to prepare it twice and drink it freshly made because it loses some of its active principles when cooled down. So if you’re consuming it alone, halve the doses I have indicated.

  • 2 cups water (oligomineral)
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
  • honey
  • lemon

  • 1 Saucepan with lid

Preparation of Turmeric and Ginger Herbal Tea

  • Place the water in a saucepan and bring it to a boil with the lid on.

  • When the water boils, add the spices.

  • Lower the heat, put the lid back on, and let it simmer for 10 minutes.

  • After this time, turn off the heat and pour the turmeric and ginger tea into the cups.
     
    Let it cool slightly, then add a teaspoon of honey and a slice of lemon.
