Milk Chocolate and Orange Tiramisu

A slightly different tiramisu, with a delicious milk chocolate cream, still prepared with mascarpone and coffee in the cream, a real treat for coffee lovers, and also for chocolate of course. I used Lona milk chocolate, which with its sweetness contrasts perfectly with the bitterness of the coffee and in this case, there is no need to add extra sugar or sweetener in the cream. If you are preparing the tiramisu for kids, you can make it with decaffeinated coffee or, alternatively, replace the coffee in the cream with more fresh liquid cream, always poured hot over the chocolate. As for soaking the biscuits, you can replace the coffee with orange juice or even milk. A delicious dessert suitable for special occasions!

  • To prepare the milk chocolate and caramelized orange tiramisu, coarsely chop the milk chocolate and place it in a bowl. Pour the hot coffee over it and set aside. Heat 1/3 cup of fresh liquid cream and as soon as it begins to boil, remove from heat and pour it into the bowl with chocolate and coffee. Add the salt and stir to melt the chocolate and obtain a homogeneous mixture. Set aside to cool, ideally also in the fridge for an hour.

Then whip the remaining cream and incorporate it into the chocolate and coffee cream with upward movements. Store in the fridge until ready to use.

  • Prepare a baking dish (8-9 inches in diameter) and place 2-3 tablespoons of cream on the bottom. Don’t worry if the cream is still a bit liquid, after the tiramisu rests in the fridge, it will be perfect! Soak the ladyfingers in the previously sweetened cold coffee one by one and place them on the layer of cream, until completely covered. Cover with half of the remaining cream and distribute the caramelized oranges over it. Then make another layer of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and finish with the remaining cream. Store in the fridge for at least 4 hours. Before serving, garnish your milk chocolate tiramisu with unsweetened cocoa powder.
